病毒一开始的名称为-nCoV，即新型冠状病毒。

现状

1.这次的新型冠状病毒(coronavirus)，具有传染性(contagious/infectious)，目前已经被证明会人人传播(human-to-humantransmission)。“传播”可以直接用spread或者transmit。

2.病毒的潜伏期(incubationperiod)一般为3-7天，最长可达20天，但是跟SARS不同的是，coronavirus在潜伏期没有症状(symptom)的时候也会传播。所以我劝父母不要串门的时候就会说，不要以为对方没有症状就觉得安全，他们可能是没有症状的病毒携带、传播者(symptomlessspreader)。也正是这一原因让这次病毒的防治非常困难。

3.虽然在加紧试验和研发，但目前coronavirus还没有治愈药或者疫苗(cureorvaccine)。感染上病毒会引发呼吸道感染(respiratoryinfection)甚至是肺炎(pneumonia)，症状包括发烧(fever)、干咳(drycough)、气短(shortnessofbreath)、呼吸困难(breathingdifficulty)等等。
